Julien Tropini



Ph.D. in International Law, training expert

Julien Tropini is a jurist and holds a Ph.D. in international law, following his thesis on the legal status of foreign fighters. He also holds masters’ degrees in international and European law as well as in defence and international security.

Julien is one of our experts in international law, legal training, and conflict sensitivity. Among other experiences, Julien has also worked for the French Ministry of the Armed Forces, the French Red Cross and has also developed his expertise in consulting missions for think tanks, prominent humanitarian and development actors.  Passionate about development, humanitarian aid, and respect for human rights in crisis settings, Julien works to strengthen the protection of humanitarian workers and civilian populations.

He conducts research for FrontView on the financing of terrorism and its impact on humanitarian organizations. He also develops a training program in International Humanitarian Law for humanitarian actors and others working in conflict-affected areas.
