In early 2012, a Tuareg uprising leads jihadist forces to take control over northern Mali, now divided in two separate parts. Solidarités International asks us to provide an initial assessment of the situation.
Evaluating needs was all the more complex that the Solidarités International NGO had no previous experience in this country, and the Sahel area and the northern part of Mali were hard to reach as they were controlled by jihadist groups. FrontView was able to assess needs thanks to its collaboration with a local NGO and proposed a WASH-in-Nut strategy in partnership with Alima and Doctors without Borders, two of the few international NGOs still active in areas controlled by armed groups.
