La Chaîne de l’Espoir, an NGO specialised in paediatric surgery, entrusted us to support the development of their activities in the area of humanitarian emergency relief.
Since 1994, the NGO has been operating in the field of paediatric surgery, and most particularly cardiac surgery. Following several emergency relief operations and in partnership with emergency-oriented NGOs, La Chaîne de l’Espoir called upon us to study the possibility of building internal capacity to respond to humanitarian crises. The objective of a feasibility study and strategic recommendations led to the proposal of an internal development plan over 18 months. This study has been carried out in parallel to the launch of a first pilot project in Iraqi Kurdistan, which obtained an institutional grant and allowed us to refine the strategy feasibility while developing project management tools.
